Final Exam T-shirt Project

This is what I did for my final exam. I created the Academy t-shirt for next year's freshman. Christina, Adrianna, and I all agreed on the design concept of paint splatter to pixels. All of our shirts ended up unique, but with the same basic design. We all used the exact same colors. The idea of paint to pixels shows that the Academy isn't all about the Digital arts, it's about all different kinds of art. The shirt displays that by turning from paint into pixels.

Flash lesson 2

1) Merge shapes will merge together if on the same layer, but drawing objects will not. Drawing objects get a box around them when selected, merge shapes don't.

2) You would double-click to select it.

3) If you put a shape on a different layer, the shapes wont merge together, it will be easier to remove later, and you can move them individually because they won't form one shape.

Super Powers

My superhero's name is Phoenix. She has the ability to control light and fire. This is her backstory:

Phoenix was born from the Sun. Her powers were a gift from the universe and the sun's never-ending power. Not unlike the sun, she was beautiful, but capable of being terrible. As an infant, she was sent down to earth to her grateful parents. They were unaware of her powers, since they did not emerge until her 13th birthday. It was sudden. Her parents thought she had a fever; her body temperature rose well over what it should be. Quickly, her temperature grew at extraordinary rates. It was barely safe to even touch her. Until one day, her parents did, and due to her uncontrollable powers, she burnt them to a crisp. She was traumatized. She realized the horrible potential of her powers of light and fire. After what happened with her parents, she decided that for the rest of her life she would use these incredible powers for only good. Deep inside she hoped that doing this would heal the burn in her heart from murdering her parents, even though it was not her fault.
At first, she was destined to be a villain. Naturally. Her powers were of such a force that she could dominate the world, destroying anyone in her way on the path to becoming the ruler of all earth. It was in her blood. But after the incident with her parents, a spark of empathy ignited, setting the stage for the change of heart and mind. She was fully aware, once her powers had fully developed, of the options she had. She would have loved to be evil; the sweet satisfaction of power and victory over all.  But inside, Phoenix knew she had to use this compelling motivation and use it for good. It was not intended for her to have this sort of hope for the good; she was meant to be evil. Still, against uneven odds, Phoenix transformed into a hero. She was a beacon of hope, destroying enemies with her powers of intense light and fire manipulation. Though the guilt of murdering her parents still eroded her, she was able to rise from the ashes, like a Phoenix.

3 Life-Altering Events:

1) Trauma: Burning her parents by accident with her newly-formed powers
2) Destiny: She was created to be a villain, but decided to rise above that and be a hero
3) Chance: She was lucky that she was able to be good, and not be forced to be evil by fate

Ad Replication

MY ad:

Original ad:

To achieve this replication, I used google images for all the photos, but I modified them. I used the distort tool a lot to make sure it looked like it was at the right angle as the original ad.  I also used the eraser a lot.
The hardest part about this ad was the soup and noodles for sure. No matter what I did, the soup at the bottom of the bowl never really looked like soup. It kinda looked like the bowl was stained. And with the noodles, it was hard to find pictures of little noodles like that I could use for this.

Strange Fruit- Kiwi Starfruit

This is my creation, the kiwi-starfruit. It is a normal kiwi fruit, but molded into the shape of a star. This will be better than the normal oval-y shape of a kiwi fruit because that leaves a lot of extra space when they're all in a box or something. But because these are flatter, it will be easier to stack on top of each other and save space in storing and shipping.

Giraqua Pen Tool

This is Giraqua. Giraqua lives in the swamps of New Orleans and loves to wear red ties. Giraqua is a very unique animal, as you can see. Nonetheless, Giraqua is beautiful and Giraqua knows it. Giraqua is known for quoting Beyonce songs and occasionally making toasted lemonade parmesan. Giraqua is a huge fan of Bob Marley and usually jams out to it wearing multicolored socks and eating pita chips.

I hope you like Giraqua, Giraqua loves you.

-I think the hardest part of the pen tool for me was moving the anchor points and the attachment dot thingys to make a shape rounder.
